Archidex 2019, 3rd to 6th of July

Archidex Exhibitions are always one of the more prominent exhibition that a few of our members will participate regularly. As always, BIA will show support by visiting them on the first day!

First we went to Lisa’s booth at Level 3, which has been her spot since a few years ago. Her specialty is doing custom wall art that can be painted on existing walls or even tiles! That means no hacking needed for refurnish jobs, especially useful for bathroom walls! (http://www.wallsignatures.com/)

Next was Jerry’s new joint venture with SHAW Industry Group, which is one of the world’s largest¬†carpet¬†manufacturers owned by Warren Buffett. Do check out his website for all range of floorings that he does at http://www.floorculture.com

After that, we went to hall 7 which has been relocated to an area further into level 3 of the convention centre. Our member, Nicholas from FlexOffice (http://WWW.FLEXOFFICE.NET) has taken the main entrance spot of hall 7 as his booth and the visibility is quite high! He mentioned that one of his USP (Unique Selling Point) is that he can custom any office furnitures with no minimum quantity! They can even produce the 3D drawings to show you before production.

Theme Parks Developer

Do you know that we actually have a theme park builder in Malaysia!? Yes, and they have been building most of the theme parks around here, including bars and escape rooms. Their scope of work includes the design and build of all the items that visitors will normally take photos with! The minimum completion time is about 3 months from idea inception to delivery. On the same hall, we have another member who supplies machines and tools for stone polishing and other related works. Banchee, together with David, are manning the booth to answer any queries visitors may have. It is said that their range of products is the most complete set for stone flooring works. Last but not the least, we have Tommy representing Tuma from Taiwan. It’s an air exchanger machine and it is the One and Only in Malaysia! It’s not an air-conditioner but it works better by getting fresh air from the outside!

BIA + Mirai Aidilfitri Open House 2019

It was another full house event!

Last Thursday BIA, together with Mirai Energy Sdn Bhd, hosted an Aidilfitri open house for all members and visitors of the building industry. It was a packed event with almost half of the participants are new faces!

The night started by Leonard representing BIA to share and discuss on the topic “Guarantees to Get More Sales“, which touches on the possibility of using Warranties and Guarantees as a way for SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) to generate more sales. Things like “Money Back Guarantee“, “Lifetime Warranty“, “Free Service” and etc. are just some examples that businesses can use to enhance their marketing campaigns at minimum costs. The theory behind this is, current SMEs are already willing (and sometimes “forced”) to provide these additional services when dealing with customers in order to stay competitive with the big guys. So, why not make it official and get some more confidence from potential customers? We may even get some extra new sales when visit previous customers again.

Before ending the sharing session, Leonard asked the audience how tempting it is if BIA is to offer “Money Back Sales Guarantee” that all signed up members will get done deals of 17x the membership fee paid (that’s 1700% of return) ! Everyone wow at the claim and in fact, it is statistically true based on BIA’s past records of members achievements! In conclusion, it is a very effective marketing strategy that even SMEs can do it.

After that, it was a products presentation by Nicole from Mirai Energy. She talked about her company specialises in Solar Power systems for residential and commercial projects. It is evident that they are capable of completing household solar power systems up to large scale factory requirements. Then, it was a short introduction of BIA by Leonard. As mentioned, there are many new features being added to website for the benefits of BIA members including jobs portal for members to post their vacancies, events portal to list all members events including promotions, sales and showroom openings. It will be a good place for end users to check out latest building industry promotions all in one place!

Finally, it’s time for the dinner and networking session that everyone was waiting for!
